Since I’ve jumped into the Bento craze to encourage my Sean to eat healthier, our kitchen cabinets have slowly been filling up with bento tools and bento boxes. I must have already amassed dozens of cutters, sandwich cutters, picks, silicon cups, barans, and what-have-you’s. Just recently, I’ve also bought bento boxes that are not only great for Sean but also great for me and my husband.
The Navy Laptop Lunches Bistro Bento Box contains removable containers two of which are water-tight and leak-proof. The box contains no lead, phthalates, or PVC and is also BPA-free. Knowing this gives assures me that our food is safe from harmful chemicals. The big inner container can hold up to 2 ½ cups while the small ones hold around two-thirds of a cup. These containers not only keep our food from getting squished and all mixed up into a big slush, they also help us portion our food. When I’m on a diet, I can fill the big container with veggies or fruits while keeping meat and other food in the small ones.
Although the containers are microwave safe, the lids are not so do remember to remove them before heating your food in the micro. As for cleaning up, it’s quite a breeze coz all components can be popped inside a dishwasher – keep them in the top rack though.
These Bistro bento boxes are now staples during family picnics. They make packing food so much easier and less messy. Priced at a little over $20, I think this was a great buy.
