Every Mom’s Start-of-the-Schoolyear Checklist

It’s barely a month before the next school year starts and mommies should already be prepared with most of their kids’ needs. Here’s a quick checklist to make sure that you have everything that you need all prepped so your child will be up and ready to get on the school bus on the first day of school:

  1. School Supplies – check that all your children’s books, notebooks, and other school supplies have already been covered and labelled properly. If you have not already washed your children’s backpacks, now is the time to do it. Do not wait until the last minute to do this or you might end up with still damp insides on the first day of school.
  2. Apparel – bring out your children’s uniforms to make sure that none of them need mending. It’s not too early to wash and iron these uniforms already and have them hanging on one side of the closet. Do not forget to check your children’s underwear, socks, and hankies too. It’s so easy to take these little things for granted until you realize that your children’s socks are in a jumbled pile of mismatched pairs.
  3. Pantry – check your pantry for school snack staples. Pancake mixes, spreads, juice mixes, and hot chocolate packs are good stand-bys for quick breakfasts and snacks for your children on busy school days. Stock up on your children’s faves, but watch the expiration dates and guard against overstocking to avoid wastage.
