Kids and Household Chores

Kids should be involved in keeping the house clean and well-maintained at all times. Doing house chores is also one way to bond with the family. However, it may be quite difficult to ask the kids to participate in keeping the house spic-and-span at all times. Here are some parenting tips on how to get the kids moving:

  • Find an age appropriate chores for the kids, for the toddlers a sticker chart would keep them excited in accomplishing tasks such as helping in making the bed.
  • For the preschoolers, they are more thrilled to level up in doing house chores like helping set the table. Giving out rewards would definitely motivate them.
  • For the pre-teens, responsibility is increased and they are expected to help out more. Giving rewards and consequences will teach them to be responsible kids.

Important tips for parenting to encourage the young ones in helping in the house chores are to find a system that will effectively work for the entire family.
