If there is one thing that you do not want to have during the holidays, it’s weight gain. You do not want to greet the New Year with a belly that rivals that of Santa Claus. Since it’s the party season, here are some tips that you should remember to reduce the chances of gaining weight during the holidays:
- Eat a light snack before going to a party. Make sure that you have a filling and healthy snack before you expose yourself to the temptation of sumptuous gustatory offerings in parties. With a full stomach, you are less likely to make impulsive decision on the amount of food you put on your plate at the party.
- Pace yourself. Parties last for hours. You do not have to wolf down every morsel of food that you put on your plate in seconds. Chewing your food properly and pausing in between bites would give your stomach time to realize that it is already full.
- Stay away from alcohol. Merry-making is not as merry without these drinks. But, these alcoholic drinks are also laden with calories that can pack on the weight without you even noticing.
